Astros Rocket By BoSox: An ALDS Game One Retrospective

'Twas a tale of two aces. Boston's Sale, whom was lit-up for seven runs in five-plus frames, brought a dull and tired knife to a gun fight. This 'gainst Verlander, whom remains unbeaten since Houston snagged him to do just this in a last-minute trade with Detroit. Sir at the very least brung a sharp knife, perchance .22 calibre through much of six stanzas. I'm not a weapons guy. I hope all that worked. I would not call his solid performance an Uzi or anything.

Altuve played hero in this yarn, becoming the 9th ever player to hit three dingers in a single post-season game. The first in a Houston uniform. Ruth done it twice. Once while smoking a hot-dog, whilst eating a cigar. "It's enough to make a guy feel six feet tall." quipped the diminutive Costas regarding the 5'6" Venezuelan.

Thus, the Boston Red Sox fall to the Houston Astros 8-2 in Game 1 of the AL Division best-of-five Series.
