Felix Assouline Cigars Ringo - Cigar Review Redux by Kaplowitz

"Only Kaplowitz."

Felix Assouline Ringo
WRAPPER: Habano Criollo '98
BINDER: Indonesian
FILLER: Nicaraguan, Honduran

FORMAT: 6.5x38 box-pressed "Colt"
ORIGIN: Nicaragua
STRENGTH: Medium-Full

NOTES: Stiffly delivered notes of charred wine cask & spiced cedar grow out from dried compost. Black pepper, coffee bean, dry pumpernickel toast. Dark & purposeful yet delicate notes -- some left unplayed as in a Jazz concert. Linear, but that line is a string on Django Reinhardt's guitar. Off-center burn wobbles on a curve. Draw is somewhat hesitant at times. Top-leaf is delicate and crackles lightly/audibly-so. Finish is a rather long salted dark chocolate addition to overtones.

FINAL GRADE: B+
A 90-100 B 80-89 C 70-79 D 60-69 F 0-59

My first look-see @ this blend: "FELIX ASSOULINE RINGO BULLET: A beautifully constructed, nice 'nuff performing box-pressed Robusto, bulging of richly black peppered roasted dark earth. Rather on a line, nuanced slightly by espresso woodiness. FINAL GRADE: B+" - Me, Four Cigars Reviewed in 100 Words vol. VI

"A medium to full flavored cigar to savor. Ringo is a call to our Western heritage. Ringo Cigars blend the past with the rich flavors one can only achieve with blending and processing Tobaccos from many regions of the world. This results in a medium to full flavor cigar, which is then housed in a natural wood box. Along with our other vitolas, the Ringo Colt is an elegant and classic box press 6½ x 38 lonsdale that is pure pleasure to smoke." - www.FelixAssouline.com
