Felix Assouline Cigars EGO Passion - Cigar Review Redux by Kaplowitz

"Have you Kaplowitz'd to-day?"

Felix Assouline EGO
WRAPPER: Habano Criollo 98
BINDER: Indonesian
FILLER: Nicaraguan, Honduran

FORMAT: 6.5x58 Torpedo Box-press "Passion"
ORIGIN: Nicaraguan
STRENGTH: Medium

NOTES:
"Autumn-spiced cedar. Sunlit earth with a slight sweet hay attachment. Cocoa butter. Copious tho not unsettling amounts of white pepper on draw and through the nose. Drops to palate in a red pepper, sweetened with avocado honey and its characteristic buttery depths. A building creaminess. Sweet woods. 2/3 is all about hibiscus and salted caramel cashews. Black pepper comes in kindly. Cinnamon steers spices. Final act is a sweet earth, woods, and heavy cream forefront. Leathery under-belly. Deeply nuanced with lively complexities all the live-long." - Me, Felix Assouline Ego - [original] Cigar Review (LINK)

Verily, yes again. Second verse (offering) same as the firs' (offering). Really quite dee-lish. The issue is the combustion and it's most likely due to rolling (construction). Burn begins on a mouse-hole then runner which threatens to canoe. Then all quiets well-'nuff in the 2/3. THEN 3/3 sees a return to woe -- tho less woe. Bunchings looks the issue, as hard clumps of leaf and pin-hole tunneling happen throughout. Draw is at times hollow.

FINAL GRADE: B
A 90-100 B 80-89 C 70-79 D 60-69 F 0-59
