NOTES:
Perhaps it's the black cavendish but it seems more coming from the nutty Burley--a certain sweet enhancement. A honeydew (sugary) topping. An American-English (Burley-reliant) blend replete with slight sweet-tooth accommodation. Quite USA-ian and a nice entry to English from OTC indulgences. Except it burns rather hot (tho no bite) and that topping seems predominantly on the heat of the fast-burning burley.
It's a muttered distraction.
[In a room full of shouted voices a whisper can garner a lot of attention.]
Latakia smokiness eventually takes a backseat to that, particularly when Cavendish flexes near-cloyingly and thus balance is lost. The Virginia is quite hard to find, and therefore, ain't much of a player. Although there is some grassiness pulled into the honeydew. Not much depth, all told. Nor much true body. A selling point would be its nicer-than-usual aroma for an English blend. Leaves very little dottle in the bowl.
Could very well become your favorite everyday English if you generally prefer lightly aromatic Burley blends and shy away from an abundance of Latakia.
