The Damn Yankees forced a deciding game 5 against the Cleveland Indians with a 7-3 Bronx win. Now it's back to the Mistake by the Lake in a series where the home-team hasn't lost. Although the Windians historically drop their W in clinch opportunities.
In a plot-twist, Damn Yankees starter Luis Severino hurled nine strike-outs, surrendering three runs on four hits and one walk through seven frames. Meanwhiles, Trevor Bauer, on short rest, only worked through 1 2/3 stanzas -- coughing up four runs on four hits. To boot, with an emphasis on boot, the Tribe's typically sound defense committed four errors.
Of note, the struggling "Dirty" Sanchez, came alive with a dinger 'gainst Bryan Shaw in the sixth. Too, the Indians' Carlos Santana showed an Asian-American in Luis Severino's armor via a two-run homer off a 91mph pitch at the knees.
In the finale, Corey Gluber will toe the rubber for Cleveland against CC Sabbathia, in maybe his last Yankee go.
