& now without any further ado, adon't or amaybe -- lettuce look at this week's Cattle Baron, gentlepersons: ... Mike Moustakas, Eric Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain and Jason Vargas are all free agents at year's-end? Oy gevalt.

I digress:
Earlier, as I moved cigar from humi to dry-box, I thought aloud and to paraphrase, "I don't think I've had a lick a' construction or even combustion issue from these." Well done, that. No reason that shan't continue. A continuation of remounting piquancy begun last Sabbath would be swell, too. These Sabbath projects all seem to mellow/flatten mid/late, then re-bound. Now there's a note of interest, gentlpersons. Ah, but the current offering:

Pepper/spice is back. Warmly, sweetly-so. Maturely. Spices are a white to black pepper with slight cayenne through the nose. Notes a' cinnamon, nutmeg, clove hint. Sweets are via cream, milk chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, and vanilla extract. Bracing is a back-bone of cedar, borrowing from both sweet and spicy realms. Buttered popcorn is hither and thither. Under-belly is a rich yet subtle complex tobacco laid twixt suede and dirt. Dirt has a lovely fusty quality and slight grain addition which carries a quite-nice maltiness. Construction/combustion each impress, as per usual.

Honestly gentlepersons, this is the most enjoyable cigar I've had in some good amount a' time. Even 'nuff to take the edge off that whole Moustakas, Hosmer, Cain, Vargas thing. Hey, maybe they'll sign a solid player and make a last run at glory. Because one might come back next year... maybe two... but not all four. Them Damn Yankees.

But then there's the two Windy City teams making nice via Jose Quintana cross-town trade, and dang if that don't rub me the wrong way. I find me in a growing baseball state a' mind this summer. This Cattle Baron pairs well with that.

I taste peanuts and Cracker Jack.
