Que Sera, Sera; Whatever Will Be, Will Be. Gentlepersons, we just don't know what it'll be till it done been. Sure, this holds true generally; also seemingly more-so than per usual whenst looking specifically ahead to the May 27th scheduled bit of fisticuffs twixt Misters Kell Brook (36-1, 25KO) and Errol Spence, Jr. (21-0, 18KO). To be more precise as to specifics yet, we just don't know exactly where the rubber will meet the road in Spence's courageous stab at testing if his prospects and potentials meet said road and become glory. The road he'll be riding ends in Brook's jolly old chip-chip-cheerio backyard of Sheffield, England. No short order, this, guv'nah.
For all the world, Spence looks to got the goods. He's till now simply not had the opportunity to deliver 'em. Is now really and truly, and under these circumstances -- the correct time to wager on him delivering so? Thus far he's stopped Misters Algieri and Bundu; neither a' whom are of Brook's level.
But Errol Spence ain't the only one with a looming nigh over-head question mark. How great is the damage left to Brook’s titanium-plate repaired right eye from his last fight against Mr. Gennady Golovkin? Too, not all scars are physical as Brook seems obsessed with a GGG rematch; in-so is he looking past this brash young challenger? I doubt it... if for no other reason than he's simply been placed before the Brit on his road to both legacy and ill-conceived hopes of that GGG rematch. As to the peeper, we won't be in the dark for long. Alas and still, we can only know what we know. Here we see an elite fighter, a Welterweight champion, whose lone defeat came in fighting a vaulted and feared Middleweight champion. Too therein, he did land some shots.

I maintain the competitor stepping up in class in his opponent's home country cannot possibly and/or honestly or even ethically, be expected to win. This is Joshua beating Klitschko if the pair fought in the Ukraine two years-ago. Kell Brook by a narrow yet convincing unanimous decision. The good news is some of Spence's still. For he shows chutzpah and promise and the intelligence to learn from defeat a la Canelo in losing to Mayweather. We'll know more come the 28th. I predict this'll be that whilst the sky may not be the limit for Spence, he'll get his share of solid pug air when all is said and done.
As to Brook, he maintains his elite tag, natch. Although I do hope he don't fight GGG again, I feel this important 'nuff to reiterate -- but I do too-so hope he comes to the colonies every-so often for us Yanks.
