B"H
THE CIGAR
Cubariqueno Cigar Co.
Protocol Probable Cause
5 x 52 Robusto
w. Mexican San Andres Maduro
b./f. Nicaraguan
La Zona SA, Nicaragua

I first reviewed this blend/vitola HERE. That makes this 'un a Redux, gentlepersons.
THE KVELL

  • Even-keeled seams hold throughout.
  • Piccante, smoked, rich dark chocolate bits.
  • Under-belly has a purple fruit lilt.
  • S'mores over a mesquite/hickory campfire.
  • Sweetly toasted heavy natural tobacco room-note
  • Espresso note thicks and thicks. Then thicks.
  • Draw remains a very nice medium+ tension.
  • Finish is long, bittersweet, ends particularly clean.
  • Oily heather-grey ash builds well and solid.
  • Fruitcake. Tis the season.
  • Body is a -full and balances well the boozy strength.
  • Big smoky-smoke, even at rest.
  • Red pepper and cumin do neat stuffs w/ brown sugar.
  • Transitions are nice and generally fruity/nutty.
  • Depth of notes/nuances is quite interesting.
  • Wine cask, me likey that note.
  • Surprisingly smooth textured for its profile.
  • Nice tingly mouf-feel.
  • A final creme brulee shift.
  • A final final fruit syrup, darkly.
  • Smooth and cool to ye olde nubbeth.

THE KVETCH

  • A bit of a fast-paced rate a' burn.
  • Line ribbons and curves a half-to-whole tick.
  • Density becomes spongy post 1/2.
  • Seems to wanna burn hot.
  • Slight erring toward a conical burn.
  • Palate gets a tick of road-rash, till creme brulee cometh.
  • Flavors are a tick less than need be in body/strength ratio.
  • Mouth-feel gets somewhat spitty in 3/3.
  • Strength unsettles my lightweight challah-basket.
