BLEND: Black

FILLER: Nicaraguan
FORMAT: Lancero (740)
ORIGIN: Nicaragua
INTENSITY: Medium/Medium-full
SPICE: 2/5
NOTES:
Brownies | Anise | Orange sponge cake
Interesting that the corner-piece brownie piece flexes so hard. Well, too, does the anise almost black licorice somewhat cola note. Then there is a slight tapering--a bit of emptiness--that I'd not guess to see in this format. A dirge of pepper-spice. That somewhat pulls the rug out from under the profile's feet.
Then a dryish cakey orange laid over an also dry composted earthiness. Via an evolution begun in the second-third, led by a dark grain umami... ground black pepper appears and sates. Now we are rounded-out proper. A calm fleshing-out. Heavy purple floral retro-hale settles into a black bread palate. Toasted cream.
Draw is a bit snug, but does loosen in stride with the full unfurling of tastes. Still likes a double-puff. All that does ding the cap assemblage a tick. Burn-line is even. Ash is a loose 3/4" of salt and pepper. Seams are a bit uneven but hold short of rustic. Fairly veiny top-leaf, tho no impediments on account of. Sarsaparilla.
TASTE: B+
DRAW: B+
BURN: B+
BUILD: B
FINAL GRADE: B+
A 90-100 B 80-89 C 70-79
