The 1916 Giants didn't win a championship either*.
The Damn Yankees, show-casing the quickest-ever rebuild, eliminated the Cleveland Indians by a score of 5-2 in the deciding game a' the series. This in coming-back from being down 0-2 in said series. The Yanks will now take on the Astros in their first ALCS since 2012. They've lost five of seven to Houston this campaign, but I'll be darned if that matters now.
Can we talk Damn Yankees sans Aaron "Dave Kingman" Judge? He struck-out four times tonight, 16 times in 21 ALDS at-bats, and his last seven AB in-a-row. Onto better batter news: Didi Gregorius homered twice 'gainst Corey Kluber, whom couldn't pitch outta the third... after being "yanked" in the second-stanza of his prior start. Transversely, CC Sabbathia in 4 1/3 innings surrendered five hits, struck out a season-high nine, and didn't give a single free base. Then the real strength of the New York squad shone on: their bull-pen. *Comparing Win Streaks: The 2017 Tribe & The 1916 Giants
