Dry and fine lace-curtain hand-feel. Slightly slight of heft. No hard/soft spots in a medium+ density of pack. Even though un-tight seams which snug as smoke progresses. Quite minimal veins. Sharply done cap and a nice looking density of pack at the foot. Bit of a wart a tick past the mid-point, which leaks in a slight wisp. Not an entirely even complexion on a natural hue'd shaft. Box press is a soft one, evenly accomplished and holding firm. No real tooth to speak of under a matte finish. Some marbling on barrel. Draw is a very smooth '' easy medium tensioned affair. Said nub is well-built, delivering coolly to smoke-hole.

combustion

A bit of a fluting at char-line. Burn is even tho not on a razor-line. No re-touches by a country mile. Great smoke out-put yields a delicate and complex look at a rather lace-curtain tho starched 'un room-note of natural tobacco sweetnesses backed by a zetz of soft wood sharpness. Excellent pacing. Verily a firm heather grey ash built in an excellent dense sheath -- makes an inch+ with ease.

Again with the starched lace curtain analogy. This is the 2013 Cigar Aficionado number two smoke -- numero uno in terms of non-Cuban offerings. It was noted there as "sophisticated." Whilst I don't know what that means, per se, I shall agree, per se. Verily a fine look at a natural woody tobacco which couples with earthiness to form a beautiful core. Not verily transitional, but supremely nuanced, complex, and balanced. An orange blossom honey, white pepper middling with a clarified buttery cedar primary tandem'd with a subtle white pepper. Under-belly/core drives well the profile. A pale nuttiness of cashew and boiled peanut lace the smoke with a separately traveling bit of suede. A blonde coffee is introduced past the mid-point. Classical and classy.

body

Smooth and soft with a wonderfully complex and ever-developing finish of extended draw notes. There is an occasional throat catch, tho far from egregious. Moisture in mouth-feel is perfect. Buttery. Cool and subtle. Lip-smacking in an angel food cake manner.

strength

Some light swooning. Past the half, there are some palpitations in the upper chest/throat. Nothing deep in chest nor challah-basket. You knows ya smoking a cigar -- verily a fine one. A bissell mo' zetz than I mayhaps hath foretold.
