SUMMATION
A smoked/toasted creamy richness with a beef jerky flavor/body attachment. Mouth-feel is typically of good moisture level, but dips to dry and ups to spitty along the way. Weighty yet cleanly nuanced flavors resulting is a sweet mouthful of coffee finish. Richly balanced in a hierarchical manner... not all even-stevens, but each aboard purposefully. A salted acidity nicely comes along in 2/3 to give a more traditional balance. Increasingly bittersweet flavor profile unfurls itself thusly and languidly, transitions are graded above average on account of this. White pepper leads black and is seasoned with a cumin led kitchen spice array; all cushioned in meaty leathery cream of thick oils. Tobacco is quite dark, but not overly gloomy and mainly in the background. Some purging is mandated to prevent a tar build-up and some bittered nuttiness. Very smoked/toasted, in the spicier bits as well, making them less zingy but still maintaining delineation.
Excellent smoke out-put dulls a tick here and there off a sometimes stiffening draw. Burn-line ribbons and threatens wobble; nothing egregious. A single re-touch is used to nip a canoe at its bud in the 3/3. Pack stays firm and solid, seams tight. Ash is thick and dry and of a medium-grey hue on a sheath. Heft and balance in the hand-feel are very nice and a lot of leaf is there. Excellent rate of combustion. A ready smoker, but not an overly easy one. Flavors are an easier gig and accessible, nicely delivered again in a roasty-toasty manner. Could've used more complexity, but notes were all playing solo music, with rather interesting nuances therein. Just a gentle whisper of strength. Cool and firm nub.

EDITOR'S NOTE
Upon reveal, Mr. Martin also let me know that this offering had about a year of humi-time on it. That would explain the lesser than typical Asylum Straight Jacket strength.
