NOTES:
Crisply Alkaline. Sinewy robust. Walking a razor-line re: overly bitter/not and astringent/not. Whoa there, me. Let's take it from the top. Aroma is a cocoa leather thing backed by dark earthiness. Sippings find the aroma there w/ an anise and toasted almond addition. Slurping shows a tobacco quality and more black dirt potting soil.

Saving this cup from bitter astringency is a particularly pleasant & lengthy sweetbitter surprisingly soft finish. Nicely balanced for a full-throttle approach. Smack your lips when the finish ends and prior to taking another sip: peppered beef jerky. Notes round out as cuppa cools; beware the bite of the first few hot sips. It's mainly worth working thru them.

FINAL GRADE: B+
