Dapper Cigar Co. El Borracho Maduro - Cigar Review by Kaplowitz

"Why not Kaplowitz?"

Dapper Cigar Co. El Borracho Maduro
WRAPPER: USA Connecticut Broadleaf
BINDER: Nicaraguan
FILLER: Nicaraguan

FORMAT: Toro (654) Box-pressed
ORIGIN: Nicaragua America Cigars, S.A. (NACSA)
STRENGTH: Full

NOTES: Frozen rope of a line drive delivery. Sizzling, but not sans nuance. Some sharp corners, un-egregiously-so. Top-notes are toasted/roasted black pepper & molasses beef jerky carried by an even more-so toasted & steely earthiness with a fruity-floral lilt. Undertones are leathery oils, semi-sweet chocolate & stiff cream. Strong in a sinewy manner.

Complexity, as well as a zetz worthy of bracing-for, is to be found through the nose. Finish is a tick shorter-lived than expected but shows a nice bit of bittersweet play. Performs admirably, highlighted by an excellent draw and fragrantly billowy voluminous smoky-smoke.

FINAL GRADE: A-

"The El Borracho Maduro stands on the shoulders of the original El Borracho San Andrés release. Using the original blend as a base, we've amp'd up the cigar's strength by adding slightly more Nicaraguan Ligero from Oliva Tobacco's prized La Joya farm and swapped the wrapper with a lush U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf. This new combination produces a robust smoking experience that'll satisfy even the most seasoned cigar smokers." - www.DapperCigars.com
