Nats Best Cubs: An NLDS Game 2 Retrospective

The Washington Nationals locked-up the NLDS at one-game a-piece with a 6-3 win over the Chicago Cubs. For the first 16 innings of their series, the Nats tallied only a single tally off the second-city squad. Till down 3-1 in the eighth-stanza of the second-game. 'Twas then Washington busted the seal via a pair of hum-dingers, thusly defeating the Cubbies.
Washington super-star Bryce Harper, back from the DL not long ago and struggling since, went yard first in the eighth off Carl Edwards Jr. Just a tick later, Ryan Zimmerman snuck one over the wall 'gainst Mike Montgomery.

Two-thirds of the Cubs total came off the bat of Anthony Rizzo's moon-shot in the fourth. That made it 3-1, and looked momentarily to be all Chi-town needed to go up 2-0 in the series. The shot was caught by a Cubbies fan at Nationals Park. As ironic as rain on yer wedding day.

Sean Doolittle closed the door for his first postseason save.
