Edner Cherry (35-7-2, 19KO)
versus
Omar Douglas (17-1-0, 12KO)
Verily an up-tempo fight. Edna Cherry coming off a win and coming in with his nation's flag draped over the schmekel portion of his trunks. Omar Douglas coming off a loss and coming in with a decade's worth of hair-growth tied up under a schmatta. It looked a tick WWE in there. Douglas was at his best when moving and not at hazard of a "Cherry Bomb" -- that being the over-hand right and the only punch Cherry seemed at the ready to let go. Truth told humsoever, when he doth did fire, he did-so wildly and paid for it via body shots from Douglas. In a bout which each contestant felt to be their road to a title bout pending victory; the truth is only Douglas came in somewhat thusly. He left as equally somewhat thusly. He did exhibit some notable foot-work -- which I noted. Cherry seems a serviceable gate-keeper. Lower-level, mayhaps. That closing is what I writ prior to the judges' official scorecard. First mine, then theirs.
CHERRY    10 10 09 09 10 09 09 09 09 09 = 93
DOUGLAS 09 09 10 10 09 10 10 10 10 10 = 97
Cherry by UD 98-92, and 96-94 twice.

I'm not one to scream robbery, but I doth on occasion whisper it. Although my "Wow" at my TV screen was louder than whispered. My head hits the pillow wondering if a W or L changes my pre-decision assessment.

SUPER FEATHERWEIGHTS 8 RDS
Frank De Alba (21-2-2, 9)      09 09 09 10 09 09 10 10 = 75
Ryan Kielczweski (26-2-0, 8) 10 10 10 09 10 10 09 09 = 77
Official scorecard: De Alba UD 77-75 twice & 80-72
Huh? Close fight with a couple 'a rounds that coulda been seen as 10-10. So exciting of a leather swap that one judge had to be replaced mid-way. Huh? Lotsa good work in mixing it up by Kielczweski, less low-hanging hands. Southpaw De Alba definitely came on stronger in the last three stanzas. Good solid action. Huh? Neither worked behind a jab well. Huh? A softly whispered "Huh?" I might add.

FEATHERWEIGHTS 8 RDS
Stephen Fulton (10-0-0, 5) 09 09 10 10 10 10 10 09 = 77
Luis Rosariode (8-0-1, 7)    10 10 09 09 09 09 09 10 = 75
Official scorecard: Fulton UD 80-72, 79-73, 78-74
The southpaw Rosariode appeared passively cautious and out-angle'd by the orthodox Fulton. Roasriode only succeeded in keeping his man on the ropes in the closing stanza. In the Puerto Rican hamlet wherein he was raised, sadly there is no word which means "Jab." Apparently. Fulton just looked bigger, badder, and looser.
