This is my second JSK of the day, having smoked the Red Knight blend as per my 18 Sabbaths project.
Thick and heavy, stiff and oily noir-esque top-leaf. Toothy as a game-show host yet seemingly as under-stuffed as a ballerina or a nun -- dependant upon yer usage of "stuffed.". Seams are loosely done, but hold throughout and are evenly secured. The char-line don't loosen 'em, neither. Cap is well built. Bit of a hard(er) spot at band-point. Not as veiny as ya'd assume to be germane. Draw is a rather loosey-goosey medium tension, even gate-to-wire. Verily a largess out-put of smoky-smoke off each end, and a fully satiated and saturated smoke-hole doth occur via that.

Having covered construction, lettuce address combustion. "Hello-ooo, Combustion!" Fast-ish paced and prone to a slight wobble -- which is corrected via re-touch once and two other times via rest, with lagging leaf turned downward in my tray. Ash builds in a medium-dark grey marbling of crooked ladder-rung, dryly and in chunks. Holds easily to a solid inch on account of an oily center.

Flavor notes of this Broadleaf offering include something typical of a San Andres. Weird, huh? That being, in particular, S'mores. Syrupy purple fruit addition which grows as smoke progresses. Meaty leather. Manure, compost. Espresso. Sweet almond extract -- particularly on bittersweet leathery finish. Nice pepper-spice tingle of cumin, roasted paprika, nutmeg, red pepper flake, and a bissell cayenne. Lotsa black pepper on the onset and then the retro-hale thereafter. Quite the full-flavored affair. Body is well toward the full end of medium-full and is of oil, cream, and darkly roasted chestnuts, pureed. Long-legs on the finish; gams, epis! Strength is a medium-full, tho on the alternate end of stated spectrum... a Bourbon gut-feel and over-all boozy buzz.

Quite well-balanced. Deeply nuanced. Moderate complexities on account of no real transitions lest an earthen grain dampening of profile in the final third. Smoke is a bit coarse, but not at all bitey. Simply not trying to be smooth, and that's OK. Overall, this JSK CN is far removed from OK, beyond that by a leap and two full bounds. Leaves me feeling excited and powerful... like I wanna robustly vacuum my living room -- or pillage a village. Sadly, my living room is more near-by and the Mrs. has the car. I bet she done that on purpose...
