Dona Nieves Nievita - Blind Cigar Review

B"H
Project X
Offering #15 Serie III
(All praise to Mr. Darryl Martin)

THE CIGAR
El Galan (Felix Mesa)
Dona Nieves Nievita
5 1/2 x 50 Robusto
w. Ecuadorian Habano
b./f. Nicaraguan
THE KVELL
Black and green pepper'd cocoa cream.
Rich and well rounded inherent sweetnesses.
Nice tangy bits in dat dere dense cream.
Sweetly spiced nougat.
Ballpark peanuts and hoi polloi macadamia nuts.
Tanginess become a malted citrus note, roasted.
Sunny and well lit yeasty tobacco. Smooth and soft.
Pedal to metal 2/3 where BOOM doth occureth...
...Flavors and body and strength blossom (-full).
Strength is a softly sturdy -medium.
Dense heather grey ash with flecks a' silver.
Honey comes in and malts. Grains, too.
A sweet animal fustiness. Rich fruit syrups.
Densely rolled and slowly paced throughout, evenly so.
Brilliant spotlight on a brilliant tobacco....
... gorgeous even-keeled blend.

THE KVETCH
Slight more draw resistance than I'd like. Loosens in 2/3.
Burn start wavy, but self-corrects on a slow pacing.
Slight conical burn, my greedy puffs?
Tongue and palate err toward a tick dry.
Shoulder comes a bit loose.
Ash darkens and flakes at 2/3's end.
Coulda used another couple a' notes.

THE KIBBITZ
Transitions. I have spoke before about the seeming devotion to transitions -- what of a luxuriously driven consistent blend? This, is that.... and shows no less mastery of blending. Deeply nuanced soft complexities via dancing nuances around a brilliantly presented tobacco core. Nigh perfect line after a slight waver in 1/3 off of mayhaps a soon-to-loosen -tight draw. Meditatively paced. Construction offered no opportunity for complaint, which is personally imperfect, as I like to complain. Robust and richly presented -full profile, tho somewhat lacking/lagging in strength per se. Superb balance of each note (tho a greater ammt of notes woulda been swell), most of which are inherent in the fine tobacy. Room-note off big cloudy bursts from each end is a ditto to draw. Finish is nuanced and lively, sweet and sour goodness, ending cleanly if not a half-tick dryly.
